NicSwitch
NicSwitch is a Windows service that "watches" for a connection
or lack thereof on a (usually) wired network adapter and then
automatically enables or disables another (usually wireless)
network adapter.
The idea is to prevent the use of the wireless adapter if and
when the wired adapter is plugged in.
This helps in several ways, first it prevents cluttering up your
airwaves with unneeded wireless signals. It also prevents what is
a very real security risk when the wireless adapter is enabled. If
the adapter is disabled, there is no risk. Additionally it prevents the often
slower wireless connection from being used when a much faster
wired connection is available.
